Brandee Bly
I've lived most of my life in South Dakota and love the opportunity to give back and provide services. I attended South Dakota State university where I earned my bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in Psychology. My passion for helping others only grew and led me to pursue my master's degree in clinical mental health counseling with a specialization in play therapy. I am currently working on my application and hope to soon become a Registered Play Therapist! My therapeutic approach is more integrative with an emphasis on person-centered or child-centered. I've found that by taking an integrative therapeutic approach, I am better able to tailor to the unique needs of each client. Some approaches that have resonated with me and in my sessions are dialectical behavioral therapy, aggression replacement therapy, EMDR, gestalt, play therapy, mindfulness, and more. My foundation in person-centered/child-centered allows me to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can feel comfortable exploring their thoughts and feelings. I believe that everyone has the potential for growth and change, and I work collaboratively with clients to help them achieve their goals. My background has allowed me to work with diverse cliental ranging from ages 3 years old to adulthood. I have experience working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD, behavioral concerns, grief, trauma, adjustment disorders, and more. In my spare time, I enjoy trying new things, traveling, reading, baking, playing piano, and spending time with family, friends, my boyfriend, and my dog Ayden!
