Why I chose Social Work and the Mental Health Profession
Community and family ideals prompted me to look into the field of social work and mental health. As a mother of 3 children, I feel obligated to help support my community in being a healthy and happy environment for all. My belief is that if a community stands together to support people of all ages and backgrounds, the entire community succeed.
I feel my part in the community is to provide mental health services to families and individuals of all ages. I have experience working with client populations in different types of social work fields to promote a life worth living for over 14 years.
A little more about me
My family has always had an ongoing joke that they “don’t need more, we have Les.” Life to me is an adventure of ups and downs where everyone has the potential to become a friend. I love to meet new people that I can learn and grow with. This comes from growing up in a small town in South Dakota, and knowing everyone.
Moving back to this hometown to share the small town lifestyle with my family was important to me. I wish everyone could have the opportunity to spend some time in a small town in the summer, taking in all the festivals and activities. I enjoy getting to take walks in the summer, my flower gardens, coaching softball, go camping, enjoy doing crafts, and enjoy being outdoors.
