Jenni Bauer, MS, Life and Health Coach

I am a life-long learner who is passionate about living my best life and helping others do the same.  I  am a certified life and health coach, a clinical mental health counseling intern, and I play a role in administration at Rising Hope.  As a counselor, my mission is to walk along side and empower you to engage in and progress through life with joy and perseverance.  During your sessions we will assess your values, strengths, and goals to discover what brings you purpose and fulfilment.

My passion is working with teens, adults, couples and families to facilitate growth,  identify goals and move forward with hope. I believe that wellness is multidimensional and each area is interconnected.  The 8 dimensions of wellness we can focus on include: Emotional/Mental, Physical, Financial, Spiritual, Intellectual, Occupational, Social and Environmental.  My specialities include EMDR, anxiety, anger, depression, shame, and health/wellness.

You are capable of transformative change which can aid in the achievement of greater happiness, success, and well-being. In my own life, I have experienced the powerful impact that counseling, coaching and wellness can have and my goal is to help you discover that as well.

I use a Solution Focused, or strengths-based approach for many mental health concerns.  This approach can help construct solutions that are best for you and your unique situation.  I also lean toward Narrative Therapy, which focuses on the understanding of your story and how your emotions and actions can fit into that story.

My background includes bachelor’s degrees from South Dakota State University in Business Economics and Sociology, Life Coaching certification through Christian Coach Institute and Personal Training and Health Coach certifications from the American Council on Exercise.   I grew up in Lennox, went to college in Brookings, and moved to Pierre in 2005 to begin an exciting journey as a wife, mother, professional, and volunteer.  I have had the pleasure of working in numerous positions with a lot of amazing people prior to making the move to Rising Hope.  I feel that my unique and diverse experiences have shaped me and can assist me in better supporting you!
