Ian McClure, MS, LPC, QMHP

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master’s Degree from South Dakota State University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have been providing Mental Health services since 2018 working with individuals ages 6 years old to 65 years old, couples and families. I have experience working with individuals suffering from a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, emotional vulnerabilities, poor self-esteem, self-doubt, adjustment disorders, negative thought patterns, ADHD, personality disorders, suicidality, trauma, grief, relationship conflicts and many more.

My approach to therapy is foundationally person or client centered and I have found it extremely beneficial for my clients to be able to draw from cognitive, solution focused, and narrative theories to utilize techniques and interventions that specifically fit each client and their needs. My office is currently located in Sioux Falls, SD and I also provide telehealth services.

I have experience working directly with school systems to help address many complex issues young people face today. During my time working in community mental health I have had the privilege to work with individuals from many different ages, abilities and backgrounds. It has been my experience that change doesn’t always happen overnight and when individuals are in a supportive and judgment free environment, they can truly overcome any obstacle. I also believe that each and every person has both the capacity and the desire for personal growth and change.

When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I also enjoy watching and playing a variety of sports as well as helping coach my daughters competitive fastpitch softball team. My wife and I have two older children, one leaving for college, one heading into highschool this coming fall and a baby on the way.
