I grew up in the beautiful Black Hills and relocated east river to begin graduate school at the University of South Dakota in 2017. I have always had a passion to work with children and began my professional journey as an elementary teacher, which lasted three remarkable years. As a teacher, I found joy in supporting and advocating for students and families, working with children one-on-one to address specific emotional/behavioral needs, and realized the importance of providing a safe and trusting environment. It was then that I understood my calling was to be a counselor.
As a counselor, I have had the unique opportunity to work in a variety of inpatient settings serving adults with co-occurring disorders, teenagers managing substance use disorders, and families. I have received Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and also serve as a board member for the South Dakota Counseling Association.
In my free time, I enjoy running, cooking, drinking coffee, laughing, serving at church, and spending time with friends and family.
The greatest gift a person can have in life is hope, which is the compass to help us navigate through the darkest storms of life. My desire is to walk alongside you through the hills and valleys life brings and would count it an honor to serve you on your journey toward hope and healing!
